The world of design knows the name, Anna Wintour, the Editor-In-Chief of American Vogue. If you’ve been living under a fashion rock, then maybe a little movie called “The Devil Wears Prada” can jog your memory. Then, maybe you’ll get an idea of how an Anna Wintour is perceived by the fashion world. I mean, no matter how she denies the resemblance, it’s like, “Oh come on!”
Well, to summarize my feelings about her and to get it out of the way, I love her. It’s that simple, no analogies, no superlatives, no metaphors. I love her.
So, I really was through the roof when I saw this video from Forbes Video on Youtube. The queen of the fashion world has impeccable taste that pushes beyond haute couture and designer duds and into hand painted and intricately detailed furniture. It’s like finding out Julia Roberts loves to cook Adobo and Pinakbet! Well, something like that – you get the idea!
If you take a freeze frame around 0:17, you’ll get to see a small but high black table with a singular drawer. See the distressed finish? Sexy, isn’t it? And if you don’t happen to notice, on it sits Anna’s iconic and ever-present venti Stabucks cup.
For another electrifyingly good surprise, if you take another screenshot around 0:33, you’ll see that there is a lovely table or chest of drawers – whatever it is – with the most amazing hand painted details. Truly to die for!
Even doing some snooping minor detective work can lead to new discoveries. You can see that even the chair is distressed just by seeing the back rest.
And finally around 0:48, you can take another look at that romantic French country table lamp that softens the look of the office.
So, really, in her defense, she is not as cold and intimidating as everyone may have pegged her for, even Anna Wintour herself. It really is exciting that somebody like Anna Wintour would go for whimsical pieces that are distressed and has that antique, worn-out, loved look.
Because of all this, we can’t help it, we just love her even more!
